The ubiquitous Scammell mechanical horse, followed by the Scarab revolutionised road transport. Not so much for the tractor but the automatic trailer coupling, allowing the tractor to be about and about on a run whilst another trailer could be loaded and and later hauled with ease! A process leading to the HGV tractors and trailers we see today
Produced from 1934, use continued into the sixties, with trailers a common site around many stations. The trailers were originally fitted with roller shutters, but these often jammed and were replaced by curtains.
This kit is the 3 ton trailer in 4mm scale only, I haven't produced the mechanical horse/scarab tractors.
Dolly Wheel can be placed in down or retracted position Main wheels are supplied as separate units, so you may either glue for stationary use or insert an axle through the underframe. kit includes shutters, open curtains and closed curtains for variety.
