Thompson 52' 4" non vestibule composite diagram 371.
17 carriages built at Doncaster in 1953, all destined for the Scottish region with an SC prefix and E suffix. All carriages had rounded corners to the windows.
This was the last new stock of the LNER era. Originally painted in plain crimson, livery was updated in 1957 to maroon with yellow/black waist stripes.
This diagram differs from the more numerous diagram 338 semi corridor lavatory composite (kit 610) by having no corridors, full width compartments and an extended 3rd compartment in lieu of the toilets.
