GNR Rigid
Many 6 and 8 wheel GNR carriages had a short working life before being usurped in general service by more comfortable bogied stock. Starting from 1908, many of the redundant carriage bodies were repurposed as articulated stock on steel frames, staying in service until the 1940s.
Reversing this process, I've taken the models used in the quints and quads, removed the modern updates (door vents, changes to compartments etc) to provide carriages more suitable to the late victorian era on the GNR.
Each kit includes:
A floor, with solebars and buffer beams.
2 blank ends plus 1 stepped end for variety.
Tall torpedo vents
Gas pots
Gas cylinder(s)
Vacuum cylinder
Buffers
I'm working on 3d printed W-irons but the frames are designed to work with (but don't include) MJT brass w-irons.
